Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities in technology, e-commerce, logistics, tourism, finance, manufacturing, and business services. Jakarta, on Java, is the main corporate and startup center; Bali is popular for tourism, hospitality, and international remote-work communities; Batam, Surabaya, Bandung, and Medan also have growing commercial opportunities. Culture is diverse, community-oriented, and generally respectful of religious and regional traditions. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to more relaxed coastal or island communities, with affordable local food and varied transport conditions. Foreign nationals usually need an appropriate work visa and employer sponsorship; internships require the correct immigration permission and should not be undertaken on a tourist visa. Relocation costs, traffic, healthcare access, housing, and local registration should be checked before arrival. Bahasa Indonesia is highly valuable, even where English is used professionally.
