Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities across technology, e-commerce, logistics, tourism, finance, manufacturing, and creative industries. Java, especially Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya, has the widest selection of corporate and internship roles. Bali is strong in tourism, hospitality, digital work, and international services, while Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan offer growing opportunities in resources, agriculture, logistics, and regional commerce. Indonesian culture values community, respect, adaptability, and relationship-building; English is common in multinational workplaces, but Bahasa Indonesia is important for daily life. Living costs vary significantly, with Jakarta and Bali generally more expensive than other regions. Public transport is improving, though motorcycles and ride-hailing remain popular. Foreign nationals normally need employer-sponsored work authorization, and internships require the appropriate visa or permit rather than a tourist visa. Candidates should confirm current immigration rules, health insurance, accommodation, and local registration requirements before relocating.
