Destination Guide

Japan offers opportunities in technology, digital marketing, e-commerce, finance, engineering, hospitality, education, and corporate services, particularly in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Workplace culture generally values punctuality, preparation, teamwork, respect for seniority, and careful communication, though international companies may be more flexible. Lifestyle ranges from fast-paced urban living to quieter coastal and rural communities. Public transport is excellent, healthcare is reliable, and living costs vary considerably; Tokyo is usually the most expensive. Foreign employees normally need an appropriate work visa, commonly sponsored by the employer, such as an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa. Applicants should confirm degree and experience requirements before accepting an offer. Relocation may involve finding housing, registering an address, obtaining a residence card, opening a bank account, and enrolling in health insurance and pension systems. Learning practical Japanese greatly improves daily life and workplace integration.
