Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in technology, fintech, software engineering, data, manufacturing, tourism, healthcare, and international business, especially in Tokyo, Osaka, and other major cities. Japanese workplaces value punctuality, preparation, teamwork, and respectful communication, while global companies may use English more frequently. Lifestyle options range from fast-paced urban living to quieter coastal and rural communities. Public transportation is excellent, though housing and commuting costs can be high in Tokyo. Foreign professionals generally need an appropriate work visa, commonly sponsored by the employer; eligibility depends on education, experience, and job duties. Before relocating, arrange residence registration, health insurance, a bank account, mobile service, and suitable housing. Learning everyday Japanese greatly improves daily life and workplace integration. Japan has four distinct seasons, excellent public services, and generally safe communities, but newcomers should prepare for earthquakes and typhoons.
