This role supports application and platform engineering for Rakuten Card while on secondment to Rakuten Card Co., Ltd. Responsibilities are likely to include designing, developing, testing, maintaining and improving financial-service systems, APIs and internal platforms, as well as collaborating with product, infrastructure, security and business teams. Candidates are generally expected to have professional software development experience, knowledge of system design and databases, and familiarity with cloud, DevOps or modern development practices. Experience with Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, Python or comparable technologies, plus an understanding of high-availability and secure payment systems, would be advantageous. Strong communication skills, problem-solving ability and an interest in reliable customer-facing services are important.
