OUR HABITAS Ras Abrouq is a luxury desert resort in Qatar operated under Habitas, a hospitality brand focused on meaningful travel, nature, wellness, culture and community. Located on the country’s remote west coast near the UNESCO-listed Al-Reem Biosphere Reserve, the resort combines contemporary accommodation with the surrounding desert landscape and local heritage. Its guest experience typically includes wellness activities, outdoor adventures, cultural programming, dining and opportunities to connect with the environment. As part of Accor’s global hospitality network, Habitas provides employees with an international working environment and exposure to upscale resort operations. Team members are expected to deliver thoughtful, personalized service while respecting the natural setting and supporting sustainable tourism. The property’s remote location makes teamwork, flexibility and a strong service mindset especially important.
Qatar is a peninsula rather than an island, but it offers a distinctive Gulf lifestyle with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, construction, aviation, retail, healthcare and professional services. Doha provides modern malls, restaurants, museums, beaches and an active international community, while Ras Abrouq offers a quieter desert and nature-based lifestyle. Local culture values hospitality, modest dress, family life and respect for Islamic customs; alcohol is restricted to licensed venues. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned transport are important. Most overseas employees require an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit. Employers commonly arrange accommodation, transport, medical cover and sometimes meals, although packages vary. Before relocating, confirm contract terms, working hours, benefits and recruitment costs. Qatar has reliable infrastructure, but remote resort roles may involve long commutes or staff accommodation away from Doha.
