Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a federation of seven emirates rather than an island, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality opportunities. Hotels, restaurants, resorts, catering companies, and event venues regularly recruit chefs, service staff, and supervisors. The culture is multicultural and welcoming, while Islamic customs influence dress, working hours, Ramadan practices, and public behaviour. Dubai offers modern housing, shopping, beaches, entertainment, and convenient international transport, although rent and living costs can be high. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored work and residence visa; the employer generally arranges medical testing, Emirates ID processing, and related paperwork. Confirm whether accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, annual leave, and return airfare are included before accepting an offer. Bring certified qualifications and experience documents, and budget for initial expenses until the first salary is paid.
