Destination Guide

Qatar is a compact Gulf country rather than an island, with Doha as its main employment and cultural center. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, construction, healthcare, technology and energy provide regular job opportunities. Workplace culture is international, but respectful dress, punctuality and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Life is modern and convenient, with malls, restaurants, beaches, museums and desert activities, although summers are extremely hot. Most expatriate employees enter through an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit; the company normally manages medical checks, documentation and relocation procedures. Review the contract carefully for salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave and airfare provisions. Qatar is generally safe, but living costs can be high, especially for housing. English is widely used in business, while Arabic is the official language. Bring verified qualifications and allow time for document attestation and onboarding.
