Raffles Singapore is the flagship property of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, a luxury hospitality brand within Accor. Opened in 1887, the hotel is one of Singapore’s most recognised landmarks and is known for its colonial architecture, refined service, spacious suites, and connection to the city’s cultural history. The property offers accommodation, restaurants and bars, afternoon tea, event facilities, and the celebrated Long Bar, associated with the Singapore Sling. Raffles places strong emphasis on personalised guest experiences, discretion, elegance, and storytelling. As part of Accor, employees benefit from the resources of a global hospitality group while working within a distinctive luxury brand. The Singapore property attracts international travellers, high-end leisure guests, business visitors, and major events, creating opportunities across hospitality operations, commercial functions, guest services, food and beverage, and corporate support roles.
Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, technology, finance, tourism, healthcare, logistics, and digital marketing. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and neighbourhoods. Life is safe, efficient, and generally fast-paced, with excellent public transport, healthcare, shopping, and dining. Housing and daily expenses can be high, especially in central areas, although salaries in professional and luxury-hospitality roles may offset some costs. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass; eligibility depends on salary, qualifications, experience, and current government rules. Employers often assist with applications and relocation arrangements. New arrivals should budget for rental deposits, medical insurance, transport, and school fees if moving with family. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
