Destination Guide

Ireland offers opportunities across hotels, restaurants, tourism, technology, healthcare, finance and construction, with Dublin providing the largest concentration of international employers. Irish workplace culture is generally friendly, conversational and collaborative, although hospitality can involve long shifts, weekend work and seasonal pressure. Dublin has excellent public transport by Irish standards, while Cork, Galway and Limerick offer a somewhat slower pace and often lower rents. Housing, particularly in Dublin, is expensive and finding accommodation can take time, so applicants should budget carefully. Citizens of the EU, EEA, Switzerland and the UK can generally live and work in Ireland without an employment visa. Non-EEA nationals usually need an appropriate employment permit and, depending on nationality and stay length, an immigration registration. Check current rules through Ireland’s Department of Enterprise and Immigration Service before accepting an offer. Weather is mild but changeable, and a social, outdoor lifestyle is easy to enjoy.
