Company Info

Shangri-La Group is a major luxury hospitality company founded in Hong Kong and recognised for its hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and other international markets. Its properties operate under brands including Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN and Traders. The group is known for refined service, comfortable accommodation, premium dining, meetings and events, and strong attention to personalised guest experiences. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates established properties such as Shangri-La The Fort in Manila and Shangri-La Mactan in Cebu. Employees generally work in a multicultural environment with structured hotel operations, service training and opportunities to build careers across departments and destinations. An Events Manager would contribute to the commercial performance and reputation of the property by securing, planning and delivering high-quality functions for corporate and leisure clients.

Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other island destinations, particularly in hotels, resorts, events, restaurants and tourism services. Filipino workplace culture is generally warm, relationship-oriented and collaborative, with English widely used in business and hospitality. Lifestyle varies from fast-paced urban living to relaxed coastal communities; living costs are usually lower than in many international hotel markets, although Manila and major resort areas can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, commonly arranged through the company after a job offer. Requirements may include passport documents, medical checks and immigration filings. Relocating staff should budget for housing deposits, transport, insurance and flights, and check local tax obligations. The country has excellent beaches and welcoming communities, but candidates should prepare for tropical weather, traffic, seasonal storms and occasional infrastructure limitations outside major cities.
