Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and operating hotels, resorts, residences, and related businesses across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other destinations. The company is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, and properties ranging from city hotels to island resorts. In Malaysia, Shangri-La operates established luxury hotels and resorts, including locations in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Sabah. Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, healthcare, and education. Popular island destinations such as Langkawi, Penang, and parts of Sabah provide resort and hospitality work, while Kuala Lumpur is the main commercial hub. Life is generally affordable compared with many international cities, with excellent food, tropical weather, modern shopping, and a relaxed multicultural atmosphere. Malay, English, Mandarin, and Tamil are commonly heard, and English is widely used in hotels. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work pass before starting employment; the company usually manages the application, subject to immigration approval and eligibility. Relocating staff should budget for accommodation deposits, transport, insurance, and visa-related costs. Island living can be quieter and more seasonal, while major cities offer broader career options and amenities. Requirements and benefits should be confirmed directly with the employer.
