Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in hotel sales, tourism, events, aviation, restaurants, technology, and business services, particularly in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, and Clark. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, and welcoming, with English widely used in workplaces and daily communication. Manila provides the broadest career market, extensive shopping and dining, lively nightlife, and heavy traffic; Cebu and resort islands offer a more relaxed lifestyle but fewer corporate roles. Living costs vary, with housing and transport usually highest in central Manila. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work visa, commonly a 9(g) Alien Employment Permit arrangement, before taking paid employment; requirements can change, so confirmation with Philippine immigration authorities is essential. Local candidates should verify relocation support, accommodation, medical coverage, and travel expectations before accepting an offer.
