The Events Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering conferences, weddings, meetings and other events from initial enquiry through completion. Requirements typically include a degree or diploma in hospitality, tourism, events or business, along with several years of hotel or event-management experience. Strong project-management, budgeting, negotiation, communication and customer-service skills are expected. The candidate should be comfortable coordinating with sales, banquet, kitchen, audiovisual and operations teams, managing suppliers and schedules, preparing proposals and contracts, and resolving issues professionally. Flexibility, attention to detail, commercial awareness and the ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays are important.
