Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with diverse opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, healthcare, retail, business services, and education. Major employment hubs include Manila, Cebu, Clark, Davao, and resort areas such as Boracay and Palawan. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and strongly influenced by local traditions, Spanish history, and American connections; English is widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed beach communities, with generally affordable food, transport, and accommodation, although costs are higher in popular resort destinations. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored Alien Employment Permit and a work visa or appropriate visa status before starting employment. Employers often assist with documentation, accommodation, meals, transport, or relocation benefits, but arrangements differ. New arrivals should verify contract terms, accommodation, medical cover, taxes, and visa responsibilities before relocating.
