Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other resort destinations. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, cruise services and tourism businesses regularly recruit supervisors, trainers and operational staff, although competition is strongest in major cities and luxury properties. Filipino culture is generally welcoming, family-oriented and English-friendly, with strong community ties and a relaxed social lifestyle. Living costs vary: Manila and popular resort islands are more expensive, while provincial areas can be more affordable. Foreign applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly arranged after hiring; requirements should be confirmed with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and the employer. Relocating employees should budget for housing deposits, transport, healthcare and possible seasonal disruptions from typhoons. Local employees generally need valid identification, tax registration and standard employment documentation.
