Job Description

The Front Office Officer welcomes guests, manages check-in and check-out, handles room assignments, responds to enquiries, processes payments, and coordinates with housekeeping and other hotel departments. Candidates should have hospitality or customer-service experience, strong communication skills, a polished and friendly manner, and good attention to detail. Fluency in English and Cantonese is generally expected in Hong Kong, while Mandarin and other languages are useful. It is known for refined service, comfortable accommodations, extensive facilities, and its distinctive Asian hospitality culture. In Hong Kong, the group operates prestigious properties including Island Shangri-La and Kowloon Shangri-La, serving business travellers, leisure guests, families, and major events. Employees typically work in an international environment with structured service standards, training opportunities, and clear attention to guest satisfaction. Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, finance, retail, aviation, technology, and professional services. Hospitality jobs are concentrated on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, and major resort areas, with international hotels often valuing English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. The culture blends Chinese traditions with global influences; residents enjoy excellent food, festivals, shopping, hiking, beaches, and a highly efficient public-transport network. Housing can be expensive, particularly near Central, so many employees live in Kowloon or the New Territories and commute by MTR. Overseas professionals normally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, while eligible professionals may use the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme. Applicants should secure a written offer, confirm salary and benefits, arrange accommodation, and prepare qualifications and reference documents before relocating. Hong Kong is fast-paced, safe, and convenient, though working hours and living costs can be demanding.
