Job Description

The Executive Pastry Chef leads the pastry and bakery operation, overseeing menus, production, presentation, quality, food safety, purchasing, cost control and team development. Candidates are generally expected to have extensive luxury hotel, resort or fine-dining pastry experience, strong knowledge of classical and modern pastry, chocolate, bread and plated desserts, and proven leadership in a high-volume kitchen. A culinary qualification and excellent hygiene awareness are normally required. The successful candidate should be creative, commercially minded, organised and able to maintain consistent standards under pressure. Strong communication skills, staff coaching ability and the flexibility to work weekends, holidays and varied shifts are essential. Experience with HACCP, budgeting and working in an international hospitality environment would be advantageous.
