Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hotel and resort opportunities across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, particularly in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and Davao. Engineering, maintenance, food and beverage, housekeeping, front office, and guest services roles are regularly available in tourism destinations. Filipino culture is warm, family-oriented, respectful, and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Island living can be relaxed and scenic, although transport, healthcare access, internet quality, and living costs vary considerably by location. Cebu, Manila, and major resort areas generally offer the broadest employment options. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit together with a 9(g) working visa; requirements can change, so applicants should confirm details with the employer and Philippine authorities. Relocating employees should budget for housing, transport, weather-related travel delays, and healthcare, while learning local customs and basic Filipino expressions.
