Destination Guide

Malaysia offers hospitality, procurement, finance, engineering and service opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu and other resort destinations. Langkawi, Penang and parts of Sabah provide an island lifestyle, with beaches, outdoor activities and a slower pace than major cities. Malaysian culture is diverse, combining Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with excellent food and generally affordable daily living. English is widely used in hotels and business, although Malay is the national language. Foreign employees usually require an Employment Pass arranged and sponsored by the employer before starting work; requirements depend on salary, qualifications and nationality. Relocation costs, accommodation, transport and medical coverage should be discussed with the employer. Malaysia has tropical weather year-round, while island locations may experience heavier rain during monsoon periods. Major airports provide convenient international connections.
