Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in luxury hotels, retail, events, floristry, tourism, finance, technology and professional services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, and workplaces are generally fast-paced and service focused. Lifestyle options range from dense urban neighborhoods, shopping and dining to beaches, hiking trails and outlying islands. Housing can be expensive, so many employees live in compact apartments or commute by the efficient MTR and public transport network. Foreign nationals normally need an employment visa sponsored by a Hong Kong employer, with approval based on qualifications, relevant experience and a confirmed job offer. Dependants may often apply for related visas. New arrivals should prepare proof of qualifications, references, medical or identity documents where required, and budget for deposits, transport and initial living costs.
