Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and professional services. Hospitality jobs are concentrated in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, Lantau, and the New Territories, with major employers including international hotels, resorts, and restaurant groups. The culture combines Cantonese traditions, international influences, fast-paced city life, and excellent food. Public transport is efficient, although accommodation can be expensive and living spaces are often compact. Employees commonly use the MTR, buses, ferries, and minibuses. Foreign workers generally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer usually sponsors the application and must show that the role and salary meet immigration requirements.
