Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers employment opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, travel services, information technology, finance, education and international business. Hospitality roles are especially available in Colombo, Galle, Bentota, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and the eastern and southern coastal regions. The country has a diverse culture shaped by Sinhalese, Tamil, Muslim and other communities, with Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity widely represented. Life is relatively affordable, and residents enjoy beaches, mountains, wildlife, historic cities and a warm tropical climate, although traffic and public services can vary by area. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work or residence permit; entering as a tourist does not authorize employment. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, medical requirements, taxes and contract terms before relocating. Colombo provides the broadest professional and international lifestyle, while resort locations offer a quieter environment but fewer urban conveniences.
