Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, events, tourism, restaurants, wellness and corporate services, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak. Island destinations such as Langkawi and Penang combine growing hospitality markets with beaches, heritage areas, excellent food and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Malaysian culture is diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and Indigenous influences, and English is widely used in tourism and business. Living costs vary: island locations may be more expensive for accommodation, while salaries can be lower than in major international markets. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit, and employment must be approved before starting work. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, transport, medical coverage and contract benefits with the employer. Malaysia has a tropical climate, so expect heat, humidity and seasonal heavy rain.
