Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, modern island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, education and logistics. Hotel roles are available in guest services, culinary operations, housekeeping, sales, events and training, although competition can be high. The culture is multicultural, orderly and fast-paced, with English widely used at work alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Public transport is efficient, healthcare and infrastructure are excellent, and food, shopping and entertainment are abundant. Housing can be expensive, particularly near central districts, so many employees live farther from the city centre and commute by MRT. Foreign candidates normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Before relocating, check current Ministry of Manpower requirements, arrange suitable accommodation and budget for rent, transport, insurance and everyday living costs.
