Destination Guide

Indonesia offers varied opportunities across its many islands, especially in Jakarta and Java for hotel sales, business services, finance, technology, manufacturing, and education. Bali is particularly strong for tourism, hospitality, wellness, and events, while Batam, Lombok, and destinations in eastern Indonesia offer growing resort and travel opportunities. Daily life ranges from fast-paced urban living in Jakarta to a more relaxed, community-oriented rhythm on smaller islands. Indonesian culture values hospitality, family, respect, and religious diversity; learning basic Bahasa Indonesia is highly beneficial. Costs vary considerably, with Jakarta and Bali generally more expensive than regional areas. Foreign employees usually need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate limited-stay visa, arranged before employment begins. Relocation planning should include accommodation, healthcare, tax advice, transport, and international schooling where relevant. Island travel is accessible by air, ferries, and local boats, though infrastructure differs by destination.
