Job Description

Banking Consultants support ANZ customers in branches across Brisbane CBD and the inner city. The role involves understanding customer needs, opening and managing accounts, processing everyday banking transactions, explaining digital banking tools, and identifying suitable products or referring customers to specialist teams. Applicants are generally expected to have customer service or sales experience, strong communication skills, sound numerical ability, attention to detail, and a genuine interest in helping people. Candidates should be comfortable using technology, working toward service and sales goals, handling confidential information, and adapting to a busy branch environment. Banking experience is helpful but may not be essential where strong customer-facing skills are demonstrated.

Company Info

ANZ Group Holdings Limited is one of Australia and New Zealand’s major banking groups, providing personal, business, institutional, and wealth banking services. Established in Australia, ANZ has a long history of helping customers manage money, borrow, invest, and grow their businesses. Its branch network and digital platforms support everyday banking customers, while specialist teams serve corporate and institutional clients across the region. ANZ employs thousands of people in Australia and overseas and places emphasis on customer service, responsible banking, inclusion, risk management, and innovation. In a Banking Consultant role, employees typically work directly with customers, helping them with routine banking needs while building confidence in digital services and connecting them with appropriate specialists when more complex advice is required.

Destination Guide

Australia offers varied employment opportunities in banking, finance, technology, healthcare, construction, education, tourism, and professional services. Brisbane is a growing, generally relaxed city with warm weather, strong café and outdoor culture, and a lower cost of living than Sydney or Melbourne, although housing costs have increased. Australian workplaces are usually informal, diverse, safety-conscious, and focused on clear communication and work-life balance. Lifestyle options range from beaches and national parks to sports, arts, and multicultural dining. Skilled migrants may explore employer sponsorship, the Skilled Independent or State/Territory Nominated visas, and other eligible pathways; requirements change, so consult the Australian Department of Home Affairs. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, healthcare, tax, and initial relocation costs. Recognition of qualifications and Australian work rights may be important for banking positions.
