Destination Guide

Australia offers employment opportunities in banking, healthcare, technology, construction, education, hospitality, logistics and professional services. Major job markets include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Canberra, while regional areas may offer opportunities in agriculture, mining and tourism. Australian workplaces are generally practical, diverse and relatively informal, with emphasis on punctuality, teamwork, safety and work-life balance. Lifestyle varies from busy city living to relaxed coastal or regional communities; outdoor activities, sport and travel are popular. Perth offers beaches, warm weather and strong mining, services and finance sectors, but housing and transport costs should be researched carefully. Most overseas workers need an appropriate visa, such as a skilled, employer-sponsored or working holiday visa, depending on eligibility. Before relocating, arrange health cover, accommodation, a tax file number and a local bank account, and check professional or English-language requirements.
