Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers opportunities in banking, technology, financial crime, data, healthcare, engineering, education and professional services. London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Leeds are major employment centres, while Northampton provides access to banking and business roles with lower living costs than London. British culture is diverse and generally values punctuality, privacy, politeness and a healthy separation between work and personal life. Lifestyle options range from historic towns and countryside to lively cities, sports, music and extensive public transport. Weather is changeable, and housing costs vary considerably by region. International applicants normally need a sponsored work visa, commonly the Skilled Worker route, unless they already hold suitable immigration status or have another right to work. A job offer from an approved sponsor, an eligible occupation, salary compliance and English-language evidence may be required. Research visa rules, accommodation, tax, healthcare access and commuting before relocating. UK employers must verify right to work before employment begins.
