Destination Guide

Singapore offers strong opportunities in banking, asset management, fintech, technology, consulting, healthcare, logistics and professional services. The financial district is concentrated around Marina Bay, Raffles Place and Shenton Way, with many multinational and regional headquarters nearby. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally business-oriented, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, diverse food, safe neighbourhoods, shopping, parks and easy access to nearby Asian destinations. Employment usually requires an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, subject to salary, qualifications and government assessment; senior banking professionals may qualify more readily, but approval is not automatic. Relocation costs and housing can be high, particularly in central areas. New arrivals should arrange healthcare coverage, housing, banking and tax advice, and compare neighbourhoods according to commute, budget and preferred lifestyle.
