Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city and a major Asian hub for banking, wealth management, technology, logistics, and multinational business. Job opportunities are strongest in finance, compliance, risk, digital banking, data, and regional business management. The culture is multicultural, orderly, and generally fast-paced, with English widely used at work. Lifestyle options range from efficient public transport, hawker centres, parks, and waterfront areas to international restaurants and a busy arts scene. Employment generally requires a work pass sponsored by an employer; professionals commonly use the Employment Pass, subject to salary, qualifications, and government eligibility criteria. Relocation costs can be high, particularly rent, schooling, and cars, although public transport is excellent. New arrivals should arrange housing, health insurance, banking, tax registration, and immigration documentation before starting work.
