Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied career opportunities in banking, finance, technology, shared services, manufacturing, tourism, and multinational companies. Kuala Lumpur is the main corporate centre, while Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak also provide growing employment markets. The country combines Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences, reflected in its food, festivals, languages, and welcoming social culture. Urban life is modern and convenient, with generally lower living costs than Singapore, although central Kuala Lumpur can be expensive. Malaysia also offers beaches and islands such as Langkawi, Perhentian, Tioman, and the islands of Sabah. Foreign professionals normally need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass; requirements depend on salary, role, and approval by Malaysian authorities. Relocating employees should arrange valid permits, housing, healthcare coverage, banking access, and tax registration. English is widely used in business, while learning basic Malay can ease daily life and integration.
