The Manager, Stakeholder Engagements – Caribbean Region develops and maintains relationships with government officials, tourism authorities, port partners, community leaders, and other regional stakeholders. Requirements typically include a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, business, tourism, or a related field; several years of experience in stakeholder relations, government affairs, public affairs, tourism, or regional partnerships; strong written and verbal communication skills; and familiarity with Caribbean markets. The candidate is expected to represent Carnival professionally, coordinate meetings and events, monitor regional issues, prepare briefings, and support business and destination objectives. Regular travel, cultural awareness, diplomacy, organization, and the ability to work with senior leaders across multiple countries are also important.
Carnival Corporation & plc is one of the world’s largest leisure travel companies and a leading operator of cruise vacations. Its portfolio includes Carnival Cruise Line and several other well-known cruise brands serving destinations across the Caribbean, North America, Europe, Australia, and beyond. Carnival combines ship operations, hospitality, entertainment, dining, excursions, transportation, and destination partnerships to create vacation experiences for millions of guests each year. The company works closely with ports, governments, tourism organizations, local businesses, and communities in the destinations visited by its ships. Its corporate operations are supported by teams in areas such as marine operations, guest services, technology, finance, marketing, human resources, and stakeholder relations. The Caribbean region is especially important to Carnival because of its extensive itineraries, port relationships, and long-term involvement in regional tourism development.
A Caribbean cruise-based role can provide access to opportunities in guest services, marine operations, hospitality, culinary work, entertainment, shore excursions, port management, sales, and destination partnerships. Caribbean culture is diverse, shaped by African, European, Indigenous, Asian, and Latin American influences, with strong traditions in music, food, festivals, family, and community life. Lifestyle varies by island, but generally includes warm weather, outdoor activities, relaxed social settings, and higher seasonal costs in popular tourism areas. Employees working onboard usually need company-sponsored maritime or work authorization rather than a standard island residence visa; requirements depend on nationality, ship registry, itinerary, and port regulations. Candidates relocating to an island should confirm work permits, housing, healthcare, taxes, banking, and transportation before moving. Many regional positions are based in Miami or another corporate hub and involve frequent travel rather than permanent island residence.
