Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers opportunities in apparel, manufacturing, IT, tourism, logistics, finance, engineering, and business services. Colombo and nearby industrial zones provide the widest range of professional and internship roles, while Kandy, Galle, and other cities offer growing opportunities in tourism, education, and regional business. The island has a warm tropical climate, diverse Sinhalese, Tamil, and Muslim cultures, and a generally relaxed lifestyle with affordable food, transport, and accommodation compared with many international destinations. English is widely used in business, alongside Sinhala and Tamil. Foreign nationals normally need an appropriate employment or internship visa and, where required, employer sponsorship; a tourist visa does not permit employment. Candidates should confirm current requirements with Sri Lankan immigration authorities and the sponsoring company before relocating. Accommodation, healthcare, transport, and living costs should be planned in advance.
