Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with major hospitality opportunities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, catering companies, and tourism businesses regularly recruit managers, chefs, supervisors, and guest-service professionals. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international workforce; modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are important, especially during Ramadan. Lifestyle options range from beaches, shopping, and desert activities to museums, nightlife, and outdoor attractions. Most expatriate employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas, with medical checks and Emirates ID registration normally arranged after arrival. Candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, flights, service charge, and working hours before accepting an offer. The UAE has a hot climate, relatively high living costs, and no personal income tax on salary, although rent and schooling can be expensive.
