Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, attractions, aviation, retail, food and beverage, finance and technology. Hospitality roles are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Changi and the city centre. The culture is multicultural, orderly and service-oriented, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Public transport is efficient, although accommodation and everyday expenses can be high. Singapore offers a warm, humid lifestyle, excellent healthcare, safe neighbourhoods, diverse food and convenient regional travel. Foreign candidates normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Employers usually handle the application, while candidates should confirm eligibility before relocating. Shared housing or living farther from central areas can reduce costs.
