Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, creative services, marketing, technology, and business support. Major employment centers include Metro Manila on Luzon, Cebu in the Visayas, and resort destinations such as Boracay and Palawan. Filipino culture is friendly, family-oriented, and strongly influenced by Asian, Spanish, and American traditions; English is widely used in business and hotels. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living to relaxed coastal communities, with affordable local food, beaches, diving, festivals, and generally warm weather. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit and a 9(g) work visa; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine immigration authorities is essential. Relocation planning should include housing, healthcare, transport, banking, and weather considerations, especially during typhoon season.
