Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, villas and cruise-related hospitality, especially in Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam and the Riau Islands. Bali is the most internationally oriented destination, with strong demand for chefs and hotel professionals, but living costs and traffic can be high. Lombok is quieter and more affordable, while Jakarta and Surabaya provide broader corporate and culinary markets. Indonesian culture values hospitality, family, respect and religious diversity; modest dress and sensitivity toward local customs are important. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to beaches, outdoor activities and relaxed island communities. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit, visa and stay authorization; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers commonly assist with immigration, accommodation and relocation, but contracts should be reviewed carefully. Candidates should confirm salary, service charge, housing, insurance, flights and tax responsibilities before moving.
