Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with excellent public transport, modern infrastructure, and a highly international hospitality sector. Hotels, restaurants, resorts, clubs, and event venues regularly seek experienced managers, chefs, service professionals, and guest-relations staff. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil; punctuality, professionalism, and respect for service standards are valued. Lifestyle options include diverse food, safe neighbourhoods, shopping, green spaces, beaches, and easy regional travel, although accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, and approval depends on qualifications, salary, experience, and current government criteria. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. Before relocating, budget for rent, deposits, transport, healthcare, and insurance, and verify employment terms, working hours, benefits, and pass eligibility directly with Shangri-La.
