Destination Guide

The Philippines offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, business services, technology, healthcare, education, and creative industries, especially in Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, and other major resort areas. Filipino culture is friendly, family-oriented, and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed island life, with beaches, diving, festivals, and diverse regional food. Housing, transport, and costs depend heavily on location; Manila and major resort destinations are generally more expensive than provincial areas. Foreign employees usually need an appropriate work visa or permit, normally sponsored or supported by the employer, and should not work on a tourist visa. Relocating candidates should confirm immigration requirements, accommodation, healthcare, taxes, and transportation arrangements with Shangri-La before accepting an offer.
