Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest hospitality job markets. Opportunities are strong in luxury hotels, restaurants, resorts, events, tourism, retail, and aviation. The culture combines Emirati traditions, Islamic values, and a highly international expatriate community. Residents enjoy modern cities, beaches, desert activities, shopping, dining, and excellent infrastructure, although summer temperatures are extremely high. Employers normally sponsor a residence and work visa after hiring; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. The usual process includes a job offer, medical examination, Emirates ID application, and labour approval. Relocating candidates should confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, gratuity, leave, and flight benefits in writing. Costs can be high, especially in Dubai, while Abu Dhabi and other emirates may offer different rent and lifestyle options.
