Job Description

The Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, checking, storing and issuing food, beverages, operating supplies and other hotel materials. Requirements typically include previous experience in hotel stores, warehousing or inventory control, basic computer and stock-recording skills, physical fitness, and familiarity with stock rotation and safe storage procedures. The candidate is expected to maintain accurate inventory records, follow FIFO principles, inspect deliveries, prevent waste, keep storage areas clean and organized, and coordinate efficiently with purchasing, kitchens and other departments. Reliability, attention to detail, honesty, teamwork and the ability to work shifts are important. Knowledge of food safety and workplace health and safety procedures is an advantage.
