Destination Guide

The Philippines is an archipelago with strong employment opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, retail, business services, and technology. Major hospitality markets include Metro Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and Davao. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, community-minded, and comfortable with English, which is widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to relaxed coastal communities, with relatively affordable food and transport outside major resort areas. Foreign nationals usually need an appropriate work visa or permit arranged with employer support; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Applicants should confirm immigration requirements with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and the employer before relocating. Consider accommodation, healthcare, transportation, weather, and seasonal typhoons when choosing an island. Local staff commonly receive guidance on housing and onboarding, but relocation costs and benefits differ by employer.
