Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Davao and other resort destinations. Hotels and restaurants regularly recruit chefs, supervisors, service staff, housekeeping professionals and managers, although competition can be strong in luxury properties. Filipino culture is friendly, family-oriented and community-minded, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living to a more relaxed beach or provincial setting; costs are generally lower than in many Western countries, though central Manila and major resorts can be expensive. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, commonly a 9(g) pre-arranged employment visa. Do not work on a tourist visa. Candidates should confirm accommodation, meals, medical coverage, transport and relocation support before accepting an offer.
