Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers strong opportunities in hospitality, finance, tourism, retail, technology, and international business. Its hotel sector is especially active, with roles ranging from accounting and revenue management to food and beverage and guest services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, fast-paced city life, and excellent dining. Lifestyle options include hiking, beaches, islands, museums, shopping, and efficient public transport, although housing can be expensive and apartments are often compact. Hong Kong is not technically one island, but the territory includes Hong Kong Island, Kowloon, the New Territories, and many outlying islands. Most overseas professionals need an employment visa sponsored by an employer, generally through the General Employment Policy, while eligibility depends on qualifications, salary, and a confirmed job offer. Employers may assist with applications, relocation, accommodation guidance, medical cover, and flights. Dependants can usually apply for dependant visas, subject to approval.
