Destination Guide

Sri Lanka offers hospitality opportunities in Colombo, Hambantota, Galle, Bentota, Kandy and other tourism centres, particularly in hotels, resorts, restaurants, travel services and wellness. The island combines tropical beaches, ancient cultural sites, tea country, wildlife parks and a relaxed but lively social atmosphere. Colombo is the main business hub, while resort locations can provide a quieter lifestyle and sometimes staff accommodation or meals. English is widely used in tourism; Sinhala and Tamil are the national languages. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work visa or residence approval and should not begin employment on a tourist visa. Confirm requirements with the employer and Sri Lankan authorities before travelling. Relocation planning should include medical insurance, housing, transport, taxes and local employment terms.
