Destination Guide

The Philippines offers varied opportunities in hotels, resorts, tourism, business services, retail, healthcare, education, and remote work. Major employment centres include Metro Manila, Cebu, Clark, Davao, and resort destinations such as Boracay and Palawan. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented, sociable, and English-friendly, while hospitality workplaces often value politeness, teamwork, and adaptability. Lifestyle ranges from busy urban living to relaxed coastal communities, with affordable food and transport outside central business districts. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa; requirements can include Department of Labor and Employment approval, immigration registration, and documented qualifications. International applicants should confirm current rules before travelling and arrange accommodation, health insurance, and a local tax assessment. Costs and salaries vary considerably by island, so checking transport, housing, weather, and access to services is advisable before relocating.
