Job Description

The Director of Engineering is responsible for the hotel’s building systems, plant, equipment, preventive maintenance, energy efficiency, and compliance with safety and statutory requirements. Candidates typically need a degree or technical qualification in engineering, substantial experience in hotel or commercial-property engineering, and proven leadership of maintenance teams and contractors. Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, HVAC, fire-life-safety, and environmental systems is expected. The successful candidate should be commercially aware, organized, hands-on when required, and able to manage budgets, projects, emergency response, and regulatory inspections. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with hotel operations, owners, suppliers, and senior management are essential.
