Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, retail and logistics. Hospitality jobs are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Changi and major convention areas. The culture is multicultural, safe and orderly, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay and Tamil. Lifestyle options include excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks and vibrant arts and nightlife, although housing and daily expenses can be high. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation; approval is handled through Singapore's Ministry of Manpower. Relocating workers should arrange valid employment before arrival, budget for accommodation, check medical and pass requirements, and understand shift-work expectations. Singapore's tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
