Destination Guide

Indonesia offers engineering and hospitality opportunities in Bali, Java, Lombok, Batam, and other resort destinations. Hotels, villas, commercial buildings, factories, and property developers regularly seek technicians, supervisors, and facilities specialists. Bali provides an international resort lifestyle, beaches, cafés, and a large expatriate community, while Jakarta and Surabaya offer broader urban employment and professional services. Indonesian culture places importance on politeness, community, religious diversity, and respect for local customs; modest dress and sensitivity around ceremonies are advisable. Living costs vary considerably, with resort areas often more expensive. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and limited-stay visa, commonly associated with a KITAS process. Employers normally handle sponsorship and immigration paperwork. Bring certified qualifications, employment references, medical documents, and passport copies, and verify housing, tax, insurance, and contract terms before relocating.
